weekdays from 8:30 a.m., with traffic violations also being heard on
weekday nights at 4:00 p.m. As one would expect from New
Jersey's largest city, the Newark city municipal court hears a variety
of traffic and criminal charges, including driving while intoxicated,
marijuana possession, drug possession, assault, and shoplifting.
